The relationship we are entering into
Coaching
Coaching provides a dedicated space for reflection, awareness, exploration and growth.
As your coach, my role is to ask questions, offer observations, create challenge where helpful and support your thinking. I do not provide answers, make decisions on your behalf or tell you what to do.
Coaching is not:
Therapy or counselling
Mental health treatment
Medical advice
Mentoring
Consulting or the provision of specialist advice
You remain responsible for your own choices, actions and the outcomes that arise from our conversations.
If at any point it becomes clear that your needs would be better supported by another professional or service, I may recommend that you seek alternative or additional support.
Consulting
Consulting is different from coaching.
In a consulting relationship, I may provide expertise, insight, frameworks, analysis, recommendations and practical guidance based on my professional knowledge and experience.
While I will provide thoughtful and considered advice, I cannot guarantee specific personal, professional or organisational outcomes.
My commitment to you
I commit to:
Providing a respectful, supportive and appropriately challenging environment.
Listening without judgement and treating you with dignity and respect.
Maintaining professional boundaries.
Acting with integrity and honesty.
Maintaining confidentiality within the limits outlined in this agreement.
Continuing my own professional development and maintaining appropriate professional standards.
My coaching practice follows the International Coaching Federation (ICF) Code of Ethics.
My consulting practice follows the Management Consultancies Association (MCA) Principles of Consulting Excellence.
I am a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS), International Coaching Federation (ICF), European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) and Association for Coaching (AC).
Your commitment as a client
For our work together to be effective, I ask that you:
Arrive on time and prepared for sessions.
Engage openly and honestly with the process.
Take ownership of your decisions, actions and progress.
Share relevant information that may impact our work together.
Respect agreed boundaries around time, communication and availability.
The value of coaching and consulting is significantly influenced by your willingness to engage with the process.
Confidentiality
Confidentiality sits at the heart of creating a trusting and effective space.
Everything discussed during coaching, consulting and connection conversations will remain confidential.
The only exceptions are where:
There is a significant concern about your safety or the safety of another person.
Information is disclosed relating to serious criminal activity.
Disclosure is required by law.
Where possible and appropriate, I will make you aware if our conversation is moving into an area where I may have a responsibility to break confidentiality. This gives you the opportunity to decide whether you wish to continue discussing that topic.
Any notes taken during our work together will be stored securely and handled in accordance with the Another Space Privacy Policy.
Sessions, communication and boundaries
Sessions will be delivered in the agreed format, whether online or in person.
Online sessions may take place using platforms such as Google Meet.
Unless otherwise agreed, communication between sessions is limited to practical arrangements such as scheduling, sharing resources or administrative matters.
Coaching and consulting support is not an emergency service. If you are experiencing a crisis, feel at immediate risk of harm or require urgent mental health support, you should contact emergency services or an appropriate crisis support service.
Fees, payment and cancellation
Fees and payment arrangements will be agreed before work begins.
Unless otherwise agreed:
Payment is required in advance of individual sessions, programmes or packages.
Payment can be made through the agreed payment method.
Rescheduling
Sessions may be rearranged with a minimum of 24 business hours' notice.
Requests made with less than 24 business hours' notice may be treated as a missed session.
Cancellations and refunds
Cancellations made with five working days' notice or more will receive a full refund.
Cancellations made with at least 48 business hours' notice will receive a 50% refund.
Cancellations made with less than 48 business hours' notice, or non-attendance, are not eligible for a refund.
Ending our work together
Either of us may decide that the coaching or consulting relationship should end.
Where possible, we will discuss this openly and bring our work together to a thoughtful and appropriate close.
I reserve the right to end our engagement immediately if there is behaviour that is abusive, threatening, discriminatory or otherwise prevents a safe and professional working relationship.
Any fees already paid will be handled in line with the cancellation and refund terms outlined in this agreement.

Any materials, frameworks, exercises, resources, presentations or tools shared as part of our work together remain the intellectual property of Isobel Donaldson Limited unless agreed otherwise in writing.
You are welcome to use these materials for your own personal development or internal organisational use, but they may not be copied, reproduced, distributed or used commercially without prior written permission.
